Human Impacts Introduction
This course is a science-based examination of human interaction with the living and non-living environment. The course examines issues of extraction and depletion of the biosphere, atmosphere, lithosphere, and hydrosphere. The course presents a broad overview of environmental problems but it will attempt to prioritize these, examine the most pressing in some detail, and looking at technical and policy oriented attempts to ameliorate the worst of these impacts.
You are expected to contribute at least 20 quality blog entries over the course of the quarter. On occasions you will be assigned the topic; often you can choose your own topic - based upon readings, class discussions, observations...
